ARTIST BIO
Su Chun Chuan (b. 1979, Taiwan) is a Taipei-based artist primarily working in painting. He is known for his dreamlike landscapes that blur the boundaries between internal emotions and the natural world, using a surreal visual language to explore the subconscious.
Working mainly with acrylic on canvas, Su’s imagery often features animals, plants, and luminous environments, constructing poetic realms suspended between memory and imagination. His representative series include Snow Trip, Under the Stars, and Flight Practice, where deer, jellyfish, and young horses traverse surreal terrains in symbolic journeys into the unknown. In works such as A Walk in the Hills and Water Dreams, layered forests and mirrored, glowing lakes evoke a sense of stillness and poetic illusion. His practice engages with the dialectics of dualities—reality and illusion, self and collective, life and death—inviting viewers into a quiet, contemplative state of perception.
Su received his BFA from Taipei National University of the Arts and later studied Visual Communications Design at Pratt Institute in New York. He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions, and has emerged as a distinctive voice in the regional art scene, recognized for his evocative visual language and emotionally resonant use of color.
ARTIST STATEMENT
Su Chun Chuan creates dreamlike landscapes that reflect emotional memory and inner transformation. His surreal imagery dissolves the boundary between nature and the psyche, forming spaces where the visible and invisible, the real and the imagined, seamlessly intertwine.
Rooted in personal experience, Su’s work responds to the emotional traces left by childhood, growth, and trauma. These memories are not rendered through realism, but through intuitive, symbolic forms: deer in constant search of a way out, jellyfish drifting between freedom and destruction, a young horse striving to leap across distant mountains. These recurring figures serve not only as private metaphors, but as vessels for the artist’s ongoing dialogue with his inner world.
For Su, painting is a spiritual practice—an act of listening to emotion and the subconscious. His compositions unfold in soft, contemplative rhythms, where layered imagery invites the viewer into a state of quiet perception. Within these imagined landscapes, Su opens a space for resonance, where personal experience is transformed into a field of memory. Viewers are gently drawn into these scenes, where forgotten sensations may resurface, or where they might recognize themselves within a world both unfamiliar and deeply familiar.

蘇俊銓（1979年生於台灣）是一位現居台北的藝術家，主要從事繪畫創作。他以夢境般的風景畫聞名，作品模糊了內在情感與外在自然的界線，透過超現實的視覺語言探索潛意識。
蘇俊銓主要使用丙烯顏料與畫布作為創作媒材，畫面經常出現動物、植物與發光的風景，在記憶與想像之間建構出詩意的場域。代表系列包括《Snow Trip》、《Under the Stars》、《Flight Practice》，其中鹿、水母與小馬穿越超現實的風景，象徵探索未知的旅程；又如《A Walk in the Hills》、《Water Dreams》，以層層疊疊的樹群與鏡像般的發光湖泊，營造出一種靜謐而詩意的幻境。他的創作關注二元之間的辯證，如現實與幻象、自我與群體、生命與死亡，邀請觀者進入一種靜默凝視的感知狀態。
蘇俊銓畢業於國立臺北藝術大學美術學系，並於紐約 Pratt Institute 視覺傳達學系深造。他曾多次舉辦個展與聯展，並因其獨特的視覺語彙與情感色彩，在區域藝術平台中嶄露頭角。
創作自述
蘇俊銓的創作建構出夢境般的風景，反映情感記憶與內在轉化。他的超現實畫面模糊了自然與心靈的邊界，形成一種可見與不可見世界交融的場域。
作品根植於個人的生命經驗，回應童年、成長與創傷所留下的情感痕跡。這些記憶不以寫實方式呈現，而是透過直覺與象徵性的形象展開：不斷尋找出口的鹿、漂浮於自由與毀滅之間的水母、試圖飛越遠山的小馬—它們不僅是私密的隱喻，更是藝術家與內在世界對話的載體。
對蘇俊銓而言，創作是一種精神性的實踐，是一種對情感與潛意識的傾聽。他的畫面節奏柔緩、靜謐，圖像層層疊加，引導觀者進入沉思與感知的狀態。在這些想像中的風景裡，藝術家敞開了一個情感共鳴的入口，使個人的生命經驗得以轉化為記憶的凝視空間，讓觀者重新連結被遺忘的感受，或在那既陌生又熟悉的世界中，看見自己。
